I am the founder and owner of ProGuide Inspections, LLC, and have lived in the Boise area all my adult life.  I can’t imagine a better place to live.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family in the great outdoors of Idaho with camping and fishing at the top of the list. Also, as time allows, I’m an amateur beekeeper and I make custom hunting knives. 

 I earned my degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Applied Electronics from Boise State University in the 1990’s and worked as a lead engineer until I started ProGuide Inpections.   I’ve personally built and owned several homes, as well as completed many renovation projects. This experience has really helped when it comes to inspecting homes! 

I spent 8 years working as a realtor, so I intimately understand the process from the buyer and seller viewpoint. I started ProGuide Inspections as a way to integrate my background in engineering in developing a home inspection process that is based on understanding structures, thermal systems and energy transfer and mechanical systems.

Hi, I am the lead home inspector of ProGuide Inspections, LLC – a family-owned business founded by my father.  With over five years of experience in the construction industry, I bring hands-on knowledge in new construction, remodeling, siding, and gutters to every inspection I perform.  I bring my all into everything I do and enjoy helping homeowners feel confident and informed about their investment. 

 When my father asked me to join the company, it felt like a natural fit. My construction background equips me with the skills to spot details others might miss, and I’m proud to continue our family’s commitment to excellence. 

 Outside of work, I’m an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hunting, backpacking—and spelunking (aka caving). That last hobby actually comes in handy when I need to navigate tight crawl spaces during inspections!

Dawn Simonson
Office Assistant

Hi there! I’m the Office Assistant here at ProGuide Inspections, LLC – aka the one who keeps things from falling apart behind the scenes. I handle scheduling, phone calls, bookkeeping, and making sure our inspectors stay organized and actually show up where they’re supposed to. It’s a full-time job in itself! 

 I have a degree in Business Marketing from Northern Arizona University and moved to Idaho after graduation to be closer to family—and because, let’s be honest, Idaho is amazing. We have two awesome kids: Drew, who you’ve probably met (he’s the one who makes my hair turn gray when he’s spelunking), and our daughter, who’s off at college studying to work in the medical field. 

 When I’m not wrangling calendars or answering calls, you’ll find me skiing, whitewater rafting, hiking, paddle boarding, fishing, or simply enjoying some sunshine. Idaho is the perfect place for both running a family business and living our best outdoor life!
